| Learning the latest office lingo
It might sound like gobbledegook, but these are the latest lines in workplace lingo. A "thought grenade'' is an explosively good idea. This phrase became fashionable among office staff last year, as did the expression "let's sunset that'', which is used to refer to bad ideas that must never be mentioned again. Every worker knows the pain of recriminations the day after a project has gone wrong. Now it has a name - "blamestorming". It means debating why a deadline was missed and who was responsible. Blamestorming is predicted to be one of the buzzwords of 2008, as is "boss-spasming'', which describes those moments of suddenly looking busy as the boss walks past. The phrases are included in a collection compiled by British recruitment firm Office Angels.
Expert predicts recession for Maine
Colgan said he expects the recession to hit in the first half of this year. Colgan called his forecast for 2007 "On Thin Ice." For 2008, he amended the title slightly, to "Still on Thin(ner) Ice." "I don't know if we'll fall through," Colgan said, "but that ice is cracking, so step gingerly." About 450 business leaders and students turned out for Colgan's forecast, and he took the attendance as another indicator that a rough patch lies ahead for the economy. "Attendance at my forecasts is counter-cyclical," he said. "When things are going great, nobody shows up." Many of those who attended said they are seeing signs that a recession could be on the horizon. Colgan said a recession in Maine likely would be more moderate than in most parts of the country, primarily because Maine's economy experienced a milder recession in 2001 and a milder recovery than the country as a whole.

An agent might also speak to a club who decide that for whatever reason it is in the best interests of a player to leave. An agent would be given permission to speak to other clubs and given a specific fee the sellers have in mind for the player. You then have to delve through your contacts and I will either speak to a manager or a chief scout at a club. In the summer, a player might be out of contract and you can spend quite a bit of time phoning clubs and trying to place a player at a particular club. As an agent I will also speak to managers and chief scouts and ask which positions they are looking to fill.
