Hillary disappointed me for the first time when she dropped her maiden name, Rodham, during Bill's first run for the White House. That identity-erasing asinine archaic male-benefiting custom ranks right up there with the pronoun "he" that has, since language was invented, dismissed half the human race ... females. But in spite of all my personal disgust with the federal government, politicians and linguists who can't invent an inclusive pronoun, I will be applauding Hillary as she moves toward the Democratic nomination for president ... and beyond, if she makes it. Men's Indoor Track Season Begins with Alumni Invitational
STORRS, Conn. (January 3, 2008) - The University of Connecticut men's track and field team begins its 2008 indoor season this weekend with the annual UConn Alumni Invitational. Competition begins today and Friday at 12:00 p.m. with the heptathlon, and concludes on Saturday with the track and field events, starting at 11:00 a.m. "It is a low key opener for our athletes," commented Head Coach Greg Roy, "but it serves a number of purposes. It is not just a competition for our athletes, but it allows our alumni to get back for a hello and it gives us an opportunity to have our annual alumni convention to recognize our supporters. We have a number of alums who are still active in our sport. The last two years featured two-time Olympian Dudley Dorival ('97) competing in the high hurdles.
